Month 2

Dear Luke,

I can' t believe you are now 2 months old! It seemed like you were in my belly for such a long time and now that you're out in the real world, time is flying by! Your daddy and I can't get enough of your cute smiles, cooing sounds, and even your screaming tantrums. (Even though we could definitely do without those....) You change every day and are learning so much. You started off looking more like your mommy, but now we see more of your daddy in you. Although you have blue eyes unlike either of us, we hope they stay bright blue! Your hair is pretty red in the sun, but seems to be getting darker brown each day as well. In your first two months you have done so much including:
-Camping with the Huntsman fam
-Went to the movie theater 4 times! (Shrek 4, Toy Story 3 twice, and Inception)
-Went on a couple hikes in Zion National Park
-Went to a favorite picnic spot of your mom's family-Provo River Falls
-Went to a water park and swam
-Visited Heber 3 times and Vegas once
-Watched your very first firework show, (well tried to watch...you were too tired :)
-Watched a Bees (Minor League Baseball) game in a suite
-Many other fun things...especially spend LOTS of time with family

You are developing more and more each day and you have been strong since you came home from the hospital. You were able to hold your head up pretty well at 3 weeks, and now you are almost a champ! We can almost put you in your bumbo already! You are getting better at sleeping through the night and usually sleep 5-7 hours at a time. We are getting closer to not having to wake up in the night. You are more and more alert each day, and follow us around the room with your eyes. You know our voices and get so excited and kick when you hear us talking. Here are some of your likes and dislikes:

Likes:
1-Bath time! Your favorite time of the day by far
2-Eating...sometimes too often for me!
3-Talking to anyone who will talk to you
4-Being held
5-Being swaddled...(still)
6-Your binky
7-Sleep
9-No sleep :)
10-Hearing mommy or daddy around
11-Tummy time
12-Your swing and bouncy chair

Dislikes:
1-Having to go to the bathroom :(
2-Having your diaper changed
3-Getting dressed
4-Waiting to eat AT ALL when you're hungry
5-Your carseat
6-A too cold bottle
7-Being in one place too long...you like variety and a change of scenery
8-People you don't recognize to hold you

You have been a good baby despite all the "gas and intestinal" troubles. The Dr.'s say it's normal for babies to have a slow maturing digestive system, so we're hoping pretty soon you start to have an easier time. Your 2 month appointment had to be postponed a week because we are in Heber visiting Grandpa and Grandma so we'll know your stats next week....(along with getting all of your shots. Not looking forward to that.)

We love you so much and wouldn't trade you in for any other baby! Thanks for being the cutest thing on earth and making us so happy. We look forward to all of the days ahead full of learning and changing. However, you can slow down a little because it's going too fast! Love you so much my little prince.

Love, Mom

Cute Videos

I don't know if ANYONE besides our parents care to watch a 3 minute video of our little man, but maybe I'm wrong :) This one is kinda long of pretty much nothing but he smiles a couple times, (be patient..) I love him!

Ok, so after I uploaded that one...Drew and I took another video, and this one is better. He smiles A LOT throughout :) He's the cutest.

Newborn Experiences

Drew and I have been able to take Luke lots of fun places the past couple of weeks. We went camping with our friends Katy and Chad at our favorite camping place. Luke did great, and was probably the warmest one in our tent! Other than our dead battery in the truck the next morning, it was a great time! Luke has also now been to Shrek 4, and Toy Story 3 twice! We actually got a babysitter so Drew and I could go to Eclipse and it was hard! I didn't give him a kiss when we left him because I was too busy giving instructions and I was sad. (She didn't need instructions anyway! She knows what she is doing. haha.) This past weekend for the 4th of July we were able to go to Heber and spend time with both our families because Drew's parents were in Salt Lake visiting his grandparents on their mission. We went out to eat, watched fireworks, went to Dairy Keen (a must) and had a BBQ. I love the 4th! Now I hope July goes fast. Tomorrow is my last day of work, we're going to Vegas this weekend to finalize Drew's job, my school, and look for a house. Then I'll be in Heber for 2 1/2 weeks before moving the first week in August. Pretty crazy! Anyway, enough of the blabbering. Here are Luke's newborns!! My mom's friend, Anne Pearson in Heber took them. She is great. (Annepearsonphotography.com/blog) Let us know what you think!
