CarlsGOOD California

Hey all! It's been a crazy couple of weeks, mainly because we've been vacationing, and then catching up on school and work from missing a week to vacation. =) It was sooo much fun. A PERFECT vacation. We went to Carlsbad, California (about 40 miles North of San Diego,) with Kelsea and Brandon (Drew's brother and his wife) and her family. It was their 20th year of going, and they have lots of fun traditions. The hotel is RIGHT on the beach, and we just hung out on the beach for three days. It was great. We had lots of fun moments so I got lots of pics. Enjoy the update. Hope all of you are doing great!

My pedicure (that cost $41 dollars because she didn't tell me certain things were extra.)

SUPA DONU! (Asian's work here...that's how they say it.) It's a tradition to go here, atleast twice for breakfast.

Just a pic on the beach at sunset, however, you can't see the sun :)

An AWESOME Castle that Kelsea's aunt made. This was the cave part.

And the castle part.

Getting ready to boogie board. Oh that was great...

Drew's second castle of the week. (Notice the pretzels...)

Our "Camp"

Oh....we aren't the cutest but it's the beach!

And another....

Drew's first castle of the week....again, the pretzels.

Cute Ty. He was kinda bipolar all week. He loved it AND hated it.

I looked over and they were in the same exact position, except Brandon's hands. SO I made him cross them for a kodak moment.

Cute huh!

I have no idea why my face looks so orange, but I thought this was funny...

Sorry...don't get bored. I just like these :)

From Drew's phone...cute huh!

We unpacked our first night there, and this is what the four of us had packed. I wish I had a pic of our sunburns to prove you can NEVER have enough!!!

The view from the street our hotel was on....

I hope we get invited again next year because it's such a fun trip to look forward to. (All year for some people, like Drew :))

Love Letter

Dear Drew-
Remember back in the day when we spent every hour of every day together? (Except 2-6 pm and 1-6 am) Those were the days. We would do this together....

And this together...

But best of all....this together...

I just want you to know, I miss being with you all the time. Our work schedules are no fun because they conflict with each other. But, I love you more than ever. And I'm so happy we did this together....

So we can be TOGETHER FOREVER! I love you honey....thanks for being you.
Love, Your love.
P.S....thanks for loving my new haircut. (I got a haircut everyone...pics to come.)

A day in the life....

What a crazy, but amazing week! I absolutely LOVE my job, and my classes aren't that bad either! I have mostly just been training this week, but next week, I will pretty much be set free! It's the perfect job, and I work with such fun people! It's great...Here are some pics to show a day in the life of a Medical Assistant. (FYI, none of these pics are of me....in case you were wondering why I look so different..they are just pics of things I do.. :)

Give flu (and other) shots

EKG's

Take blood pressure (and other vitals)

And of course, LOVELY computer work. This is what I spend most of my time doing. (Entering prescriptions, calling in prescriptions, entering new patients, updating patient records, etc.)
And let's not forget about this part of my life....

Aside from work and school, I do still have him..

So with all of these great things, plus going to Gold's Gym with my new pass....my life is pretty hectic! But I love it. I wouldn't change it for the world!

My "great" great grandma...

This past week was full of events that were both fun and surprising, and some that were sad but joyous at the same time. My parents, along with Garrett and Gavin and their friends Chellcee and Emily came down last weekend to spend the weekend at the Condo and move Garrett in to his new apartment. It was a fun weekend at the condo and was bitter sweet moving Garrett in to school. While we were at the condo, my mom received a call that her grandmother, my great grandmother, had passed away. My grandma was such an inspiration to so many. At age 94, she was still bowling on a regular basis, and was an award winning bowler. I am a better person having known her, and I will remember her always. I will cherish the blanket she made Drew and I for our wedding forever. Her funeral was yesterday, and it was a beautiful service. Grandma most definitely lived her life to the fullest with an amazing attitude and love for life. We will miss her greatly, but we know she is probably bowling, watching Braves games, and smiling down at her family, just like she always has. Love you grandma!

Look how cute and little she is (everyone looks small next to Garrett though...)

Here's grandma with Elle last Christmas

I love this pic of my cute dad helping my grandma

This weekend was bitter sweet not only because of my grandma's passing, but because of my little brother moving to Cedar City for school. I am really excited for him to go to SUU and happy that I will get to see him more often (hopefully,) but I just can't believe this day has come. It worked out for us to drive to Heber together for the funeral, and drive back to Cedar today. I had to witness him saying goodbye to his cute girlfriend, (so sad) to my grandma, and to our baby brother Gavin. I think I had a harder time than Garrett did with the last two, but I just can't believe he's so grown up! Hopefully Gav can be okay without him, since they haven't been seperated EVER. I know Garrett will be okay, and everything will be fine, but GEEZ time flies! Here are a couple funny pics of my little brother, whose not so little. :)

If you thought yesterday rocked.....

I have even BETTER news today. I did receive a job yesterday, and accepted. But today, I got an even better offer and am SOO excited! I received my Medical Assistant certification quite a while ago, and have been searching and digging for a job ever since. Well, somebody FINALLY gave me a chance and I am soo happy and excited. I will be working in St. George, 25 hours per week, at an Internal Medicine Clinic. Since I am almost done with pre-req's for Dixie's Radiology program, I will probably take them from Dixie, so that I can go to school as well as work this semester. That's not set in stone yet, but I am so happy and know that no matter what we decide as far as school goes, I will be so happy with my new job. I know that the past three months were really hard and I had some really hard days because I was so stressed searching for jobs. It was almost like having a full time job just SEARCHING for a job. But, all the waiting and getting turned down paid off, and I finally have a job I will love. :) I just have to say I have an amazing husband who supports me in anything and everything. I wouldn't have been able to get through the stressful days without his encouraging words and all-around support. I love him so much. :) Life is GOOD!

Jobs vs. callings...

Just wanted to announce that today is a WONDERFUL day! It's 73 degrees (mmm) Drew got a promotion, (mmm hmmm!) and I got a JOB! (WAHOOO!!) We are so excited. We have been praying a lot and I know that is the reason we got double blessed. :) Drew originally applied for the concierge position at the hotel he is currently working at (Cedar Breaks Lodge and Spa.) The job would have been nice, and his manager told him he REALLY wanted to give him the job. However, his school schedule was too conflicting, and it was important to finish school, of course. He is done in December and we can't wait. So they offered him a position as the "Front Desk Supervisor" and gave him a three dollar raise! We were so surprised and happy! He has worked so hard, and I am proud of him. I was offered a position at the Family Support Center. As of right now I am not completely sure what my job will exactly consist of, but I know I will be caring for children who come from abusive and broken homes. The hours are part time, so I will be finishing my pre-req's this semester as well. WAHOO for jobs!! We are also loving our new married student ward. We have had the opportunity to get really involved right off because our ward was split right when we moved in and we lost A LOT of couples. We have only had 16 couples all summer, but we are gaining 18 more next week! Yesterday, we got called into the Bishop's office (dun dun dun!!) I was called to be a pianist, chorister (in sacrament) and the ward relief society specialist! I'm excited. Drew has a calling, but it hasn't been extended to him yet, so we'll keep you posted on that. Anyway, this is a novel and most of you have probably stopped reading! I was just too excited not to share! Thanks for all of your prayers and support through this hard summer! We're excited for this semester.....

Fixed computer = Finally a new post!

Sorry it's been so long everyone! Our computer was being stupid and wouldn't work so...it's fixed and ready to blog! :) Lots has happened in the past couple weeks so I'll try and update best I can. First of all, we got a puppy! Her name is Mika. (Pronounced Meeka.) She's a malamute, the runt of the bunch, so she'll stay a little smaller than normal. They are outdoor dogs that LOVE snow so it's perfect for us! She's a family dog, and very independent so she pretty much trains herself. It will be fun I'm sure! Today is her first day here so she's a little sad and not warming up to us. I'm sure it will get better. Here she is! She's a cute one....

Drew's birthday (Big 24) was on July 12th and we went to Moses Lake, Washington. His grandparents live there in a beautiful home on a river with really pretty land. We drove up with Drew's brother and his wife, Brandon and Kelsea. It was a fun drive, even with a one year old! We just relaxed a lot while there, ate lots of yummmmy food, and went to a water park! I only got pics of the water park (I know..lame) so here are some of those!

Drew and his cousin Dax in the lazy river.

Me posing...hot I know..haha

Kelsea and Ty-Ty

Moses Lake was a lot of fun. Hopefully we can go back soon! This past weekend was the Del Gado reunion (Drew's maternal grandma's side of the fam.) It was in Salt Lake, so the whole fam stayed at the Hyatt in Sandy, it was really nice! We went to the zoo on Saturday, and then on Saturday night had a 60's/Disco party. We all dressed up and had A LOT of fun dancing and partying. Sunday we had brunch at a park (really yummy) and then walked over to the cemetary nearby to see members' of the family's graves. Later that day we got to stop and see Kellen and Des (and Elle and Maddix.) It has been a while since we've seen them so that was fun! Here are some pics from the weekend.

Don't we look great :) Haha

This is the closest to normal we got...Drew is ruining it.

Promise I'll try and keep updating! I'm still searching for a job. I have atleast 5 interviews a week, so hopefully something will come up soon! Love you all...
